AZERBAIJAN, GEORGIA: INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION SIGNS PROTOCOL
The document on restructuring debts of Georgia to Azerbaijan was signed: from the Azerbaijan side - by Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, from the Georgian side - by his colleague Aleksi Aleksishvili.
The Prime Minister of Georgia has thanked members of the Commission and experts for effective work. He has noted, that the fruitful meeting has been conducted in Batumi, discussions took place and will be continued negotiations about cooperation in power sector, purchases of additional volumes of gas in Azerbaijan. Concerning the lining of the Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway, Mr. Nogaideli has told, that heads of railway managements and experts continue working on the said question. The basic arrangement on attraction of the Azerbaijan investments into economy of Georgia has been reached.
‘Joint projects represent value not only for Georgia and Azerbaijan, but also for all region, Mr. Rasizade said. ‘We are going to expand cooperation with Georgia also in non-oil sector. Cooperation with Georgia having good traditions in the field of tourism, spheres of service, I believe, will bring good results. Also was reached the agreement on development of links in cultural and humanitarian spheres.
