Azerbaijan, Germany discuss interparliamentary relations
Baku, October 15 (AZERTAC). Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), chairman of the natural resources, energy and ecology committee of the parliament Valeh Alasgarov has met today with visiting German parliamentarian Rolf Hempelmann.
Alasgarov informed Hempelmann on the Milli Majlis` activity and law-making process on extraction, development and production sharing of energy resources.
He stressed Azerbaijan is a leading state in the region for its economic development, adding “the country is a participant and initiator of a number of huge projects in the region”.
Alasgarov stressed Azerbaijan plays a key role in transportation of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea to world markets and in energy security of Europe.
Hempelmann stressed “Azerbaijan enjoys great interest from Germany”.
He said the aim of his visit is to learn Azerbaijan`s experience on legislation on the energy resources management.
The sides also discussed expansion of interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
