Azerbaijan joins international discussions on protection of children in digital environment

On April 21, international discussions on the theme “International Policy and Practice Exchange on Child Protection in the Digital Environment” commenced in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.
Azerbaijan is represented at the two-day high-level event by a delegation led by Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs. The event is organized by the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services.
The discussions, attended by representatives from 17 countries, aim to study international experience in protecting children's rights in the digital environment, discuss advanced policies, and strengthen cooperation among countries in this field.
The event also focuses on key issues such as ensuring children’s safety on digital platforms, protecting them from harmful information, and identifying effective mechanisms for their healthy development.
The gathering further features thematic discussions and panel sessions with the participation of representatives of relevant state institutions from various countries, as well as experts.
At the session dedicated to technology governance and global practices, representatives of Microsoft, Meta, and Google, as well as officials from the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority, the T3 Foundation, and other institutions, will share their views on the issue.
As part of the event, a high-level meeting will also be held with the participation of ministers from several countries.
