AZERBAIJAN JOINS NORWAY`S GSP PROGRAM
Eleven countries including Azerbaijan have been included into the Norway`s generalized system of preferences (GSP) program. Among CIS countries, this program is active in Azerbaijan and Georgia only.
GSP is an offer of duty relief allowing the poor countries in the world the opportunity to import their goods duty free into Norway, or with reduced duty rates
Those willing to make use of those preferences must obtain the certificate of origin from the State Service for Control over the consumers market under the Ministry of Economic Development.
Apart from this, Azerbaijan will use GS Programs of the EU countries, Canada, Japan, Turkey and Switzerland. In April this year, the official application was sent to the US trade mission on inclusion of Azerbaijan into the US GSP program as a beneficiary country
Azerbaijan`s involvement in the GSP programs is important for strengthening the export potential of the country and diversifying the structure of export.
