AZERBAIJAN ‘MAY BUY A POWER PLANT IN GEORGIA’

Azerbaijan may buy a power plant in Georgia, said Marlen Asgarov, Vice-President of Azerbaijan`s major electricity company, Azerenerji, after official Tbilisi announced privatization of its power industry.

“It will probably cost a lot to acquire a power plant. However, if they make a proposal, we will discuss the issue with the government.” Asgarov said.

According to him, recently Georgia has offered Azerbaijan to purchase its Inguri hydropower plant, but his country refused.
