Azerbaijan, Mongolia enhancing legal cooperation between Prosecutor General’s Offices

A delegation from Mongolia, led by Prosecutor General Jargalsaikhan Banzragch, is paying an official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev.
Jargalsaikhan Banzragch visited the Alley of Honor to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laying a wreath at his grave. He also laid flowers at the graves of prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, distinguished statesman Aziz Aliyev, and renowned doctor and scientist Tamerlan Aliyev. The delegation then visited the Alley of Martyrs to honor Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, laying flowers at their graves.
During the meeting between Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and his Mongolian counterpart, it was noted that bilateral relations are developing dynamically, driven by friendly ties and the farsighted policies of the two countries’ leadership. The importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies was emphasized. Kamran Aliyev briefed the delegation on ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan’s prosecution service, including digitalization and the introduction of new legal institutions.
Jargalsaikhan Banzragch expressed gratitude for the warm reception, highlighted the importance of relations with Azerbaijan, and voiced confidence in the further expansion of cooperation between the two bodies.
The meeting featured a productive exchange on combating crime, with agreement reached to continue cooperation on extradition, mutual legal assistance, and prosecutor training. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to strengthen legal cooperation and further enhance ties between the two Prosecutor General’s Offices.
As part of the visit, Jargalsaikhan Banzragch was awarded the “100th Anniversary Jubilee Medal of the Azerbaijani Prosecution Service” in recognition of his contribution to strengthening legal cooperation.
The delegation also toured the History Museum of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office.
