AZERBAIJAN, NATO: PROSPECT OF LINKS DISCUSSED
Members of Azerbaijan Parliament Aydin Mirzazade, Fuad Muradov, employee of Defense Ministry, colonel-lieutenant Rauf Aliyev, head of the Press Club Emin Hasanli and others spoke of history of the Azerbaijan-NATO relations, their importance. It was noted that Azerbaijan was one of the first 27 European countries stating to participate at the Partnership For Peace (PfP) program of NATO and the nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev founded these relations in 1994.
It was noted that the relations with NATO are guarantee for independence of Azerbaijan and the country gives due attention to this.
Also was in the focus the participation of representatives of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces at the NATO military courses, stressed the necessity of expansion of these ties in the frame of Individual Partnership Plan of Activities approved in 2004.
