Azerbaijan parliament`s speaker meets Chairman of International Union of Lawyers
Baku, November 13 (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan`s parliament, Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met Friday Chairman of the International Union of Lawyers, Andrey Trebkov.
Asadov said 15 years have passed since the adoption of the Constitution of Azerbaijan. “Our goal to build legal, secular and democratic state is reflected in this major document.”
Asadov noted successful continuation of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s strategy by President Ilham Aliyev, promotion of democracy necessitated some changes to the Constitution.
The Speaker pointed out amendments and supplements made to the Constitution since 1995 aims to develop the political system in the country.
Asadov also underscored the importance of the Baku conference on Constitutional mechanism of protection of human rights and liberties devoted to the day of Constitution in Azerbaijan.
Andrey Trebkov, in turn, praised Azerbaijan`s progress in building the legal and democratic state. “These accomplishments in Azerbaijan will always make the country`s friends happy,” he added.
