Azerbaijan responds to Armenian FM`s allegations at OSCE Ministerial Council
Baku, December 8 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani ambassador to the OSCE Galib Israfilov has responded to Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian`s allegations about the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the OSCE Ministerial Council in Dublin.
The Armenian FM accused Azerbaijan of ignoring proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group, which mediates in the dispute between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani ambassador expressed regret “that once again the OSCE witnessed allegations made by the Armenian side against Azerbaijan”.
“In his statement, Edward Nalbandian was accusing Azerbaijan, but his speech provided little information about what Armenia is doing to solve the conflict, and what efforts the country takes to deal with a difficult situation which emerged as a result of the occupation of the Azerbaijani lands,” Israfilov said.
“For us, the only interesting point in the Minister`s statement was the fact that Armenia shares the position of the co-chairs on the settlement of the dispute. If it`s true, the main thing the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs have always urged Armenia to do is to withdraw its military from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands.”
“The sooner Armenia does it, the sooner we will reach mutual understanding and peaceful cooperation,” the Azerbaijani ambassador added.
