Azerbaijan joins CIS and SCO counterterrorism forum

The Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) commenced in Minsk.
The forum will feature the CIS Conference on Countering Terrorism and Extremism, along with an international scientific and practical conference of the SCO RATS, as well as CIS and SCO competent bodies will hold a joint exercise.
Attended by more than 300 delegates, the forum aims to foster knowledge-exchange and strengthen collaborative responses to emerging security risks, including the links between transnational organized crime and terrorism.
The conference brings together representatives from the competent authorities of 18 countries, CIS and SCO bodies, international organizations including the UN and Interpol, as well as educational and scientific institutions, such as the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan.
The agenda also covers issues such as the identification and blocking of terrorist and extremist content online, cooperation between government agencies and technology companies, the monitoring of terrorist organizations' activities, and the use of artificial intelligence.
The forum will also feature conferences involving the CIS and the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, alongside the Eurasia-Antiterror-2026 joint exercise scheduled for October 8.
