Azerbaijan, San Marino review cooperation in renewable energy, natural gas supply

On May 7, Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), met with Marco Gatti, Minister of Finance, Budget, Transport and Energy of San Marino, and Alessandro Bevitori, Minister of Labor, Economic Planning, Relations with AASS, Ecological Transition and Technological Innovation.
The meeting highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing role in Europe’s energy security, including the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor. It was noted that Azerbaijani natural gas is currently exported to 16 countries.
During the meeting, the Sammarinese officials were briefed on SOCAR’s green energy agenda and the activities of SOCAR Green.
The parties also exchanged views on cooperation across various segments of the energy sector, including natural gas supply, renewable energy and decarbonization, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
