AZERBAIJAN SOCCER ACADEMY TO OPEN IN 2009, ROVNAG ABDULLAYEV
Azerbaijan will have its own Soccer Academy. The opening of the Academy is scheduled for the beginning of January, 2009, Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) told press conference Tuesday.
While visiting Azerbaijan last year, UEFA president Michele Platini got acquainted with construction of the Academy. According to Mr. Platini, UEFA has supported the project.
This year early in December AFFA officers visited Nuremberg Soccer Academy of Germany to learn how to practically apply general principles of education at the Academy.
According to Abdullayev, soccer development in Azerbaijan shows remarkable success.
