Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss how to deepen economic cooperation
Baku, February 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev has met Cengiz Gul, co-chair of Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Council under Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board, to explore ways of deepening economic relations.
Mr. Aliyev highlighted socio-economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan under President Ilham Aliyev.
He praised Azerbaijan-Turkey relations, saying the two countries maintain fruitful cooperation in a variety of fields.
“Turkish companies are operating in many fields in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijani companies are successfully operating in Turkey. Azerbaijan makes its largest investment in Turkey.”
The Minister spoke of what had been done to develop industry in Azerbaijan. “President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to announce 2014 the Year of Industry,” said Mr. Aliyev, adding “this will ensure success of the country`s industrialization policy and make Azerbaijan the regional industrial hub”.
Mr. Gul proposed arranging a meeting aimed at exploring prospects for enhancing economic cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
