Azerbaijan, Ukraine discuss cooperation prospects
Baku, February 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Ukraine have discussed the prospects for cooperation and development of interparliamentary relations as Azerbaijani ambassador to Ukraine Eynulla Madatli met Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak.
Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada noted that Ukraine attached great importance to the relations with Azerbaijan in the context of Baku-Kiev strategic partnership.
Rybak expressed his gratitude to the Milli Majlis leadership for active participation of the Azerbaijani observers in the 2012 parliamentary elections in Ukraine. “Their objective and balanced estimation was very important for Ukraine,” he said.
Stressing the activity of the interparliamentary friendship group, the speaker said it includes 36 Ukrainian MPs.
According to him, reciprocal visits of the parliamentary groups will contribute to strengthening of the dialogue between the two countries. Rybak recommended the use of multilateral format for development of interparliamentary relations.
The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada hailed the stable commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
The Azerbaijani ambassador invited Volodymyr Rybak to Baku, saying reciprocal visits contributed to strengthening cooperation in different fields.
