Azerbaijan, US Cisco Systems Corporation discuss cooperation

Azerbaijan`s minister of communication and high technologies Ali Abbasov has met with representatives of the US Cisco Systems, Inc.
According to the Ministry, the meeting discussed prospects for new cooperation and productive use of existing potential.
Speaking on the state policy in the information-communication and high technologies fields, which are strategic targets of Azerbaijan, Mr. Abbasov underlined various projects were being implemented in the direction.
Vice president of the Cisco corporation Jonathan Sparrow said international companies were closely watching Azerbaijan`s ranking, adding “Azerbaijan became a center of information services of the region.” The vice-president noted they were interested in the “expansion of national broadband network” project, and added they were ready to make relevant proposals over the project.
The attendees, then, saw presentation of new platform of the national broadband internet infrastructure.
