Minister of Justice, Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council Fikret Mammadov met with the newly appointed ambassador of the United States of America to the country Ms. Anne Derse, 17 July.

Having congratulated the Ambassador on her new mission, the Minister said the relations between USA and Azerbaijan develop quickly. He spoke of the ongoing democratic processes in the Republic, the establishment of civil society in Azerbaijan, human rights protection, ensuring freedom of word and expression.

Noting the positive results of reforms in the country, the Ambassador said she had been eyewitness of progressive changes in short period in the Republic. Ms. Anne Derse said Azerbaijan is a reliable partner and the United States pays great attention to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the fields of combat against international terrorism, use of energy resources, and development of democracy.
