Azerbaijani chess players succeed in World School Championship
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). The 8th World Chess Championship which brought together 532 schoolchildren from 37 countries has wrapped up in Romanian town of Yassy.
Azerbaijani chess players have won six awards of the championship.
Gunay Mammadzade under 13 years old finished the competition first with 7.5 points, while her teammate Narmin Mammadova won silver with 7 pts.
In men section at the same age category, Ismayil Shakhaliyev finished second.
Khatin Bagirova (U15) ranked second, while Aytan Amrayeva (U15) had satisfied with the bronze medal of the championship.
