Azerbaijani community in Norway celebrates Victory Day
Stockholm, November 6, AZERTAC
An event dedicated to Victory Day, entitled “Glorious Victory”, was held in Oslo, Norway.
The event was organized with the support of the Support fund of Azerbaijan Diaspora, the Norwegian Azerbaijanis' Youth Organization (NAYO), and the Norwegian Coordination Council of Scandinavian Azerbaijanis.
The event brought together Norwegians, Azerbaijanis, Turks, Ukrainians, and representatives of other national communities.
The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War. The attendees then watched a video dedicated to the historic Victory.
In his remarks, Ramil Aliyev, head of the Azerbaijan House, highlighted the significance of Victory Day and the importance of holding patriotic events dedicated to this milestone abroad.
“November 8 is a historic day for Azerbaijan. This Victory stands as a symbol of our national unity, strength, and solidarity. Such events play an important role in fostering patriotism among Azerbaijani youth born and raised outside the homeland,” Aliyev emphasized.
Fariz Rzayev, Norwegian coordinator of the Coordination Council of Scandinavian Azerbaijanis and NAYO chairman, noted that the Victory not only fills every Azerbaijani with pride but also unites them around the cause of a strong Azerbaijan.
The event continued with a concert program featuring Honored Cultural Worker Elchin Abbasov (tar), Honored Artist Togrul Asadullayev (kamancha), soloist of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Orkhan Jalilov, laureate of the “7th TV” mugham competition Ravan Gachayev, as well as dancers Firuz Aliyev and Jamila Listkova, and pianist Arvin Balanzhi.
