Azerbaijani cyclist ranks 3rd in Slovakia

Cyclist of the Azerbaijani Synergy Baku Cycling Project Kirill Pozdnyakov has finished third in the Tour of Slovakia.
Pozdnyakov finished second on the race’s mountainous second stage to move into third place, and held on to it until the end.
“I am very happy with this result, and would like to thank my teammates. The good teamwork is what made this possible,” Pozdnyakov said.
Sunday’s closing stage was a short one, with two climbs, the first coming almost immediately after the start. With 75 km to go, a break group formed which stayed away until the end. Pozdnyakov was safely within the peloton which finished over a minute down.
The team’s next race will be the Tour of Serbia, June 14-19.
Matija Kvasina, Matej Mugerli, Josip Rumac, Alex Surutkovych, Elchin Asadov and Ioannis Tamouridis will represent Synergy Baku in the race.
