Azerbaijani delegation attends ITU Telecom World 2013 in Thailand
Baku, November 19 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Information and Communication Technologies Ali Abbasov is participating in the leading ICT knowledge sharing, networking and innovation showcasing event “ITU Telecom World 2013”, which kicked off today in Bangkok, Thailand.
Along with the employees of the ICT ministry, the Azerbaijani delegation also includes representatives of ICT companies and non-governmental organizations.
The event has welcomed top-level participants from around the world and from across all branches of the ICT industry.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, ITU Secretary-General Dr Hamadoun I. Toure, and Minister for Information and Communication Technology of Thailand Anudith Nakornthap highlighted the importance of the event.
The central focus for the conversations and activities at ITU Telecom World 2013 is “Embracing change in a digital world”, a focus very much in evidence throughout the event.
ITU Telecom World is the platform for high-level debate, knowledge-sharing and networking for the global ICT community - essential to drive industry success and address critical socio-economic challenges.
National Pavilions and industry stands from companies and countries across the world showcase the latest technologies and developments and highlight key investment opportunities.
Azerbaijan`s 150 square meter pavilion highlighted the country`s achievements and potential projects.
On the sidelines of the event, the Azerbaijani delegation is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of some foreign institutions.
