Azerbaijani FM holds series of meetings in New York
Baku, September 24 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Congo Alexis Tambve Mvamba as part of his visit to New York to attend the 66th General Assembly of the United Nations.
The parties signed an agreement on establishment of official diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Congo Democratic Republic. They also discussed cooperation prospects.
The Azerbaijani Minister also met with the Special Envoy of the US Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar. Energy security issues, regional energy projects and their importance were discussed during the meeting.
Mammadyarov also met with Liberia`s Foreign Minister Toga Gayewea McIntosh. The sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, prospects for economic, energy cooperation as well.
The Azerbaijani FM met with US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns. They exchanged views on negotiation process to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, discussed Azerbaijan-US cooperation in various spheres, in energy sector as well.
Mammadyarov also met Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania Edmond Haxhinasto. Economic, trade, energy cooperation between the sides was discussed during the meeting. The parties also highlighted the importance of organization of reciprocal visits and business forums to contribute to development of relations.
