Azerbaijani FM meets UAE counterpart

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Anwar Mohammed Gargash in Baku.

The ministers hailed the Azerbaijani-UAE relations.

Mr. Mammadyarov stressed that high-level reciprocal visits played a key role in the expansion of the bilateral ties.

Mr. Gargash said the UAE was watching Azerbaijan`s dynamic development with great interest. He said there were ample opportunities for the expansion of cooperation in the economic, trade, humanitarian and tourism fields.

The Azerbaijani FM highlighted the negotiations to find a solution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He said Armenia`s destructive and aggressive policy is the main obstacle to the settlement of the conflict.

The FM also provided an insight into Armenia's illegal activity in the occupied regions of Azerbaijan, including the destruction of material and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani people, including Islamic religious monuments.
