AZERBAIJANI FM MEETS WITH EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR SOUTH CAUCASUS
According to the Foreign Ministry’s press-center, Minister E. Mammadyarov updated the guest on his meeting with his Armenian counterpart V. Oskanian held on January 18-19 in London, and gave an insight into the nation’s official stance on the conflict’s resolution. He stressed an importance to settle this problem in compliance with international law standards and the Constitution of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Heikki Talvitie noted that European Union is ready to get directly involved in not only the settlement of the conflict and also post-conflict recovery process.
The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues concerning the internationally-mediated negotiations to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Heikki Talvitie stated that European Union backs Azerbaijan’s policy of integration into the European institutions. In this context, he stressed that EU is interested in discussing a plan of actions prepared by Azerbaijan under the European Neighborhood Policy.
