Azerbaijani-Italian relations discussed in Bari

A conference titled “Mediterranean Sea and Caspian Region: New alliance and emerging opportunities for business cooperation across Via Egnatia and Silk Road” has been held in Bari, Italy.
Organized by the Italian Institute for Asia and the Mediterranean (ISIAMED) and University of Bari Aldo Moro, the event brought together Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Albania Brunilda Paskali, Ambassador of Albania to Italy Neritan Ceka, Region of Puglia President Onofrio Introna, Former Deputy Minister for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ugo Intini, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Bari Alessandro Ambrosi, as well as Italian scholars and business people.
Ambassador Sadigov provided an insight into historical aspects and current state of Azerbaijani-Italian relations, as well as the role of ancient Silk Way in development of these ties. He also highlighted promising spheres of cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador pointed to “ample” opportunities for the bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the regions of Italy, including Puglia.
