Azerbaijani Minister of Justice meets President of European Court of Human Rights
Baku, October 24 AZERTACAzerbaijan`s Minister of Justice, chairman of Judicial-Legal Council Fikrat Mammadov has today met President of the European Court of Human Rights Dean Spielmann.
Mammadov underlined the significance of fruitful cooperation with the European Court of Human Rights.
He also highlighted the application of electronic court system, as well as modernization of judicial system under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Minister stressed the importance of the Baku-hosted “Application of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms on national level and the role of national judges” international conference.
Dean Spielmann praised reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, as well as measures related towards ensuring independent and effective operation of judiciary.
He also visited the Justice History Museum.
