Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports meets UN Secretary-General

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has met United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as part of their visit to the US.

During the meeting, they discussed the final preparations for the first Global Forum on Youth Policies to be held in Baku on October 28-30. The Minister thanked the UN Secretary-General for his support to hold the Forum. Mr. Rahimov also highlighted youth and sports policy in Azerbaijan, as well as achievements in these fields.

The Minister briefed Ban Ki-moon on the Baku 2015 First European Games, and stressed the importance of holding the Games in the European continent for the first time.

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon hailed the successful policy carried out in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Ban Ki-moon asked Azad Rahimov to communicate his greetings to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
