AZERBAIJANI OPHTHALMOLOGISTS’ FIRST CONGRESS STARTS IN BAKU
The First Congress of Azerbaijani ophthalmologists began in the State Medical Refresher Institute, on Friday.
Prior to the congress, participants visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and eminent scientist-ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
Addressing the meeting, head of Azerbaijan Research Institute after Zarifa Aliyeva Elmar Gasimov told of successful reforms being implemented in the country’s medical area. He noted that today, new methods are applied in Azerbaijan’s ophthalmology. Mr. Gasimov emphasized that new ophthalmologic center meeting the high standards will be opened in Azerbaijan, next year.
The physicians from Turkey, Russia, Finland, Georgia and other countries delivered reports.
The congress is underway.
