AZERBAIJAN’S MINISTER OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETS GERMAN BUSINESSMEN
Baku, April 8 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev today has met here representatives of Germany`s some leading companies engaged in the field of agriculture.
During the meeting, Azeri Minister briefed the guests about the ongoing economic reforms and successes the country has achieved.
Mustafayev highlighted that development of the non-oil sector is one of the main priorities of the government, saying Azerbaijan places high emphasis on development of agriculture.
“The State Program on Reliable Food Supply for the Population in 2008-2015” approved by President Ilham Aliyev on 25 August 2008 is a vivid evidence to this,” he said.
The Minister also praised German companies’ interests in Azerbaijani agrarian sector, adding his country supports German company “RAO Global Group’s” intention to construct Agstafasud Complex in Agstafa region.
“Such projects are expedient to be implemented in other regions of Azerbaijan as well” he said.
Project manager of the RAO Global Group Rasul Orujov informed the Minister about the project of Agstafasud complex construction.
The project expert, employee of “IAK Agrar Consulting” company Nordfrid Bruno Scheunemann expressed assurance the project will be “successfully” realized. He also praised the ongoing economic reforms in Azerbaijan.
“Implementation of the project will play an important role in advancing non-oil, especially agricultural sector of Azerbaijan and provide the population with products of high quality”, he noted.
The 28 mln euro estimated Complex will be supplied with the modern European equipments and is forecasted to product 80 tones of milk per day. The complex will employ about 230 persons as permanent and 80 seasonal workers.
