Azerbaijan’s preparations for WUF13 in spotlight of Kazakh media outlets

Kazakh media outlets have widely covered the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), set to take place in Baku on May 17-22.
Reports focused on megacity development, affordable housing, sustainability, and innovation, describing the forum as a key UN platform for urban planning and sustainable urban development.
“Kazinform” News Agency described the World Urban Forum as a major global platform on urbanization, climate change, and sustainable development, highlighting challenges like poverty, inequality, strained infrastructure, pollution, and informal construction, while stressing the need for affordable housing, better public transport, cultural heritage protection, and safe public spaces.

“Enbekshi QazaQ” and “Newspress.kz” noted that WUF13 will turn Baku into a global urban development hub, bringing together 176 countries to focus on sustainability, smart cities, and innovation, while “Qaz-Media.kz” highlighted its aim to promote global dialogue and solutions for safer, more sustainable, and accessible cities.

“Lada.kz”, “BAQ-Orda”, “Aimaq Aqshamy”, “Atameken” and “TuraNews” reported that the forum will bring together government bodies, international organizations, experts, and media to explore sustainable urban development and global urban agenda issues.
“Jezkazgan Vestnik” portrayed it as one of the UN’s largest events on urban development, focusing on sustainability, infrastructure modernization, environmental resilience, and quality of life.

“AltaiNews.kz” highlighted WUF13 as a key global platform on sustainable and smart urban development, with broad coverage further amplified on their social media and video content.
