Azeri agricultural minister attending 37th session of FAO conference
Baku, June 29 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov is attending the 37th session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) conference in Rome, Italy.
The meeting focuses on the regional conferences of the FAO, the technical committees on Commodity Problems, Agriculture, Forestry, World Food Security and Fisheries, and governance, legal, administrative and financial matters.
Ismat Abasov delivered a speech at the event.
The Azeri minister invited participants of the event to attend the 28th regional conference of the FAO in Baku in 2012.
During the event, Abasov met with Italian, Brazilian, Iranian and Austrian counterparts.
Abasov also met President of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Kanayo Nwanze.
They signed a loan agreement for the “Integrated Rural Development Project”.
The project aims to support increased agricultural productivity, enhanced incomes and food security.
Azeri agricultural minister visited Cerveteri and met mayor of the city Cino Ciogli.
They discussed prospects of cooperation between Cerveteri and Azerbaijan`s regions.
