AZERI OIL REACHES TURKISH PORT OF CEYHAN

A product of national leader Heydar Aliyev's wise and far-seeing policy, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline project achieved a milestone on May 28 as the Azerbaijani oil reached the Turkish port of Ceyhan. The first tanker will be loaded here with 600,000 barrels of oil to deliver it to the world markets. A solemn ceremony to mark the first oil's reaching Ceyhan will be attended by presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, as well as government officials of the countries, whose companies are participating in the project. The $4 billion worth pipeline will transport 1 million barrels of oil per day bringing in millions of dollars to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
