AZERI PARLIAMENTARIANS VISITING TURKEY
The delegation comprises members of Parliament Nizami Jafarov, Malahat Hasanova, Farrukh Zeynalov, Ganira Pashayeva, Rovsjan Rzayev, the head of Milli Majlis Administration Safo Mirzoyev, the head of department of the international relations of the MM Administration Rashid Ibrahimov and others.
On February 8, in Ankara airport of Esenboga, the delegation was met BY the vice-chairman of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Sadik Yakut, the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Zakir Hashimov and other officials.
Visit of delegation began from visiting the mausoleum where the founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kamal Ataturk is buried - Anitkabir. On behalf of chairman Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic, was assigned a wreath to the tomb. Then, members of parliamentary delegation have familiarized with museum of Ataturk and struggle for rescue.
Then, the delegation has arrived at Great National Assembly of Turkey to meet with chairman of Great National Assembly of Turkey Bulent Arinc.
Warmly having welcomed the Chairman of Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov, Mr. Bulent Arinc thanked the head of Azerbaijan parliament that he has accepted his invitation and began the foreign visits from Turkey. He has noted, that according to two ingenious persons - Mustafa Kamal Tataturk and Heydar Aliyev, we are two brotherly states. Visit of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev to Turkey in 2004 has given a new pulse to friendly and brotherly relations basis of which has been founded by great leader Heydar Aliyev. “Today, our countries closely cooperate in the field of politics, economy, science, education, culture and in other spheres, including at a level of parliaments. We are glad, that on November 6, 2005, parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan have passed at high level. Turkey watched closely these elections and welcomed them”.
At the meeting, it has been marked, that Turkey constantly supports Azerbaijan and at the international level and takes measures for restoration of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We are sure, that further this cooperation will become even stronger, will serve strengthening of the Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship”, he stressed.
Chairman of Milli Majlis, having expressed gratitude for the invitation of delegation in the country and warm reception, has noted, that feels pride of that the first visit as the head of parliament has made to Turkey. Chairman Milli Majlis has told: “We always feel support and help of Turkey in all areas, including in business of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Our countries closely cooperate in a number of the international organizations, and also in Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. At the same time, parliamentary groups of friendship of Turkey and Azerbaijan should be more active, mutual visits should be more. It will assist development of inter-parliamentary relations, the further intensification of mutual exchange of experience”.
At the meeting, has been underlined the importance of signing of the protocol on interaction between parliaments of two countries and carrying out of joint seminars, conferences.
Then chairmen of parliaments have held joint press conference.
