BAKU CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES
Having considered the address, the organizers were permitted to hold the action under the condition of the obligations taken by the organizers, as well as not to arrange nonstop action with setting of tents, not to make challenges to change by force the constitutional bases, not to use cold and fired arms, and also stone and other cutting tools and not admitting breach of public order.
Along with this, the law-enforcers have received operational information to make by the representatives of radical opposition attempts to violate order, transfer the procession-rally to illegal and continuous action, and call for disobedience to the authorities and admission of other harsh offences to cause mass unrest.
In connection with above-stated, the organizers of meeting have been invited to the Baku Main Police Department and officially warned by city Office of Public Prosecutor about carrying out of action in peace and lawful conditions, according to the conditions, and also use for this purpose all available opportunities.
Despite of it, from the moment of the beginning of meeting, many representatives of radical opposition, including ILgar Ibrahimoglu, Ali Kerimli, Sardar Jalaloglu and others, making statements inciting to violence, called participants of meeting for mass disobedience, use of any means for achievement of goals and have started real execution of the said actions. And heads of the Popular Front and Liberal Party Ali Kerimli and Avaz Temirkhan, having put forward upon termination of meeting the slogan “We shall die, but never leave the square”, have declared the beginning of illegal continuous meetings, calling participants to sit on the land and to not abandon the area. In spite of the fact that the police has immediately warned organizers of meeting in connection with infringement of its beforehand discussed conditions about inadmissibility of similar actions, the warning has been ignored.
Though at 17.00 p.m. that is upon termination of the meeting the police has repeatedly warned about the cancellation, directed on infringement of the social order, many of party heads taking place there have not executed the given requirement, preferring illegal radical actions and inciting to this of participants of the meeting. In result, the social order has been roughly violated, and participants of the action showed resistance to law-enforcement bodies.
Police and forces of Internal Troops, performing official duties, have carried out lawful measures to prevent the illegal actions directed on mass infringement of social order.
On the preliminary data, as a result of clash, 26 law-enforcers and some participants of meeting have received bodily injuries of various degrees.
