Baku hosts CIS International Banking Conference

Baku, December 1 (AZERTAC). The 4th International Banking Conference of CIS member states on “Financial markets of the CIS: the road to sustainable development in the context of global instability” has today started in Azerbaijan`s capital.

The event is organized by CIS Finance and Banking Council and International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) with annual support of the CIS Executive Committee.

Opening the conference, first vice-president of the CIS Finance and Banking Council and chairman IBA`s Board of Directors Jahangir Hajiyev said the two-day conference would discuss integration of banking and financial systems, expansion of cooperation in three panels.

President of the CIS Finance and Banking Council Andrey Kostin, President of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, Deputy Chairman of Russia`s Central Bank Sergey Shvetsov and others addressed the event and praised the importance of the conference for discussing urgent issues. One of the main topics of the meeting is to prepare liquidity support mechanisms.

A session of the International Investment Award “Investment Angel” was also held as part of the conference. World Organization of Creditors is a founder of the award.
