Baku hosts international conference on volunteering
Baku, November 25 AZERTAC
International Conference "Volunteering as a form of youth participation in social life" has today started in Baku.
The purpose of the conference organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijani office of UNICEF is the development of volunteering, and expansion of international cooperation of young people.
The conference, which brought together representatives of youth organizations of the CIS countries, will focus on the revitalization of volunteering among young people, promoting human values and patriotic education of the younger generation, training of future leaders.
The opening ceremony was addressed by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Intigam Babayev, head of UNICEF Azerbaijani Office Andro Shilakadze, an expert of this international organization Valery Mitrofanenko.
The conference on the same topic in the coming days will be held in Ganja, to be attended by youth from 21 regions and cities.
