Batumi conference adopts appeal to Presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgia
Baku, August 30 (AZERTAC). Participants of the "Integration of Georgian Azerbaijanis into local society in the context of the Azerbaijani-Georgian strategic partnership" conference in Batumi have adopted an appeal to Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Mikheil Saakashvili of Georgia.
“Thanks to your hard work and diligence, the friendship ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Georgia, which have deep historical roots, have become a reliable guarantor of the strengthening strategic partnership between our states," the appeal says.
“The global projects being realized in the region are precisely based on this cooperation. Azerbaijan and Georgia have always had a mutual trust and confidence.”
Pointing out at some problems, the participants expressed confidence “the conference will play a big role in having a better understanding of the problems and their solutions.”
”On the basis of proposals made during the discussion, we express great hope for holding a nationwide meeting of Georgia`s Azerbaijanis soon and creating of a united organization of the Azerbaijani community. We are confident that with the support of Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Georgia, we can create such association in the near future,” the appeal said.
