BTC - IMPORTANT FROM ENERGY SAFETY STANDPOINT
The article deals with the ceremony of inauguration of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline as alternative to the oil pipelines transporting oil from the Near East and Russia to Europe, noting that it would accelerate accession of Turkey to the European Union.
The author informs that in the near future the yearly capacity of the pipeline will reach 50 mln tons and Kazakhstan will also transport its oil through this route. The article also reminds that some fortes look at this pipeline as threat to ‘Energy Empire’ of Russia.
