Bundestag delegation to visit Azerbaijan
Baku, October 20 (AZERTAC). The participation of Azeri young people in the International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program will be discussed October 21 in Baku during a meeting of a delegation of German Bundestag with Azeri colleagues, representing the Azerbaijani-German Parliamentary friendship group, and Vice Speaker of the Milli Majlis Valekh Aleskerov. The German delegation is led by MP Stefan Claudio Lemme.
As part of the IPS program some 120 exhibitioners from 28 countries will be offered an internship in the office of a Member of the German Bundestag and enjoy a supplementary academic program organized by three most famous German Universities: the Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Freedom and Technical University. The participants of IPS program are introduced to the wide variety of tasks carried out in a Member`s office. For example, they may find themselves drafting speeches, articles and letters or doing preparatory work for plenary sittings.
The International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) program is supervised by the President of Bundestag and implemented as part of the cooperation with the universities of Berlin.
The IPS program offers the participants 450 euros per month, free accommodation and covers all insurance and travel expenses.
The IPS program is aimed at highly qualified young men and women who are interested in politics and who wish to play an active and responsible role in shaping the democratic future of their country. The German Bundestag, the German Parliament, offers young people the opportunity to get to know the German parliamentary system and political decision-making processes and to gain practical experience of parliamentary work during a 15-week work placement with a Member of the Bundestag. The scholarship-winners are chosen by the German Bundestag`s independent selection panel.
