CASPIAN LEGAL STATUS DISCUSSIONS END IN TEHRAN
As earlier reported, the working groups of the Caspian littoral states have held Caspian legal status discussions in Tehran. The 2-day discussion ended on 22 April.
Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov.
The Final document states that some agreements were reached concerning the project. The next meeting (23rd) of the Working Groups is said to be hosted in Baku. The schedule is to be specified later.
In the framework of visit, Mr. Khalafov met with the Iranian minister for roads and transportations Mr. Bokharayi and the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Sheikh Attar. In meetings, discussed were the questions concerning international North-South transport corridor, TRACECA program and some aspects of Azerbaijan-Iran relations.
As agreed, experts of both countries shortly will meet to discuss a project of the construction of motor road and railway bridges over the Astara River on border.
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Iran Abbasali Hasanov took part at the meetings.
