Baku, August 27, AZERTAC
Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and Ilgar Musayev, Head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, visited the technical supervision center for webcams on Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections scheduled for September 1.
They reviewed the installation process of the webcams, which are crucial for ensuring transparency during the elections. The officials stressed the importance of adhering to the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and provided instructions to the specialists involved.
The upcoming snap parliamentary elections will be the first held across the entire sovereign territory of Azerbaijan, marking a significant socio-political event for the county. The webcam project, which has been successfully implemented for 16 years, will continue to be used in the upcoming elections. Webcams have been installed in a total of 1,000 polling stations to ensure comprehensive observation on Election Day, September 1. Internet users will be able to follow the voting process, including vote counting and result determination, both domestically and internationally, via the CEC official website without any need for registration, providing direct and continuous access.
The CEC Chairman then addressed the media, briefing journalists on the latest preparations for the elections.
