Chelsea, AC Milan reportedly strike deal on Christian Pulisic transfer

United States men's national team star Christian Pulisic will play for AC Milan next season, after the Italian giants successfully negotiated a deal with Chelsea for the player on Friday, according to Fox Sports.
AC Milan upped their efforts to pry Christian Pulisic away from Chelsea on Wednedsay by submitting a $21.8 million bid for the 24-year-old American, a $5 million improvement from their first offer.
That's still less than Lyon's aggressive opening bid of $27.2 million and less than what Chelsea was reportedly hoping to get for Pulisic, but 24-year-old American signaled to his current club that he only wanted a move to Milan, according to a report from ESPN on Monday.
Milan finished fourth in Serie A and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, the latter of which is reportedly what made Milan more appealing to Pulisic. Pulisic became the first-ever American to play in and win the Champions League final in 2021.
In addition to the Champions League trophy, Pulisic won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in his four seasons at Chelsea. In 145 total appearences Pulisic had 26 goals and 21 assists.
