CIS countries found Anti-Cancer Association
Baku, September 8 (AZERTAC). Member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent Stats have established an Anti-Cancer Association, with Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan becoming its members.
The association was founded at the seventh CIS Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists, which took place at the Palace of Independence in the Kazakh capital of Astana.
The congress, which brought together over 1,500 participants from 36 countries, including Azerbaijan, focused on legal, organizational, methodological, human, scientific and educational aspects of oncology.
"Kazakhstan plans to organize a genetic laboratory to diagnose and treat cancer," professor at the Research Institute of Pulmonology of Saint Petersburg Sergey Orlov told the congress.
According to him, it will let improve diagnosis of cancer diseases both in Kazakhstan and CIS and improve the results of treatment.
