DUTCH FOREIGN MINISTRY DELEGATION VISITED AZERBAIJAN
A Dutch Foreign Ministry delegation led by Marjanne de Kwaasteniet, acting Director-General for European Affairs, visited Baku this week for political consultations with Azerbaijani officials.
During her meetings with deputy foreign ministers Araz Azimov and Mahmud Mammadguliyev, Marjanne de Kwaasteniet discussed political and economic situation in Azerbaijan and the region, and the current state of peace talks on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. She was informed of priorities in Azerbaijan`s foreign policy and the country`s moves towards integrating into Europe.
In her turn, Marjanne de Kwaasteniet expressed Dutch companies` interest in starting business in Azerbaijan.
In a meeting with Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev and Vice President of the state oil firm, SOCAR, Elshad Nasirov, Marjanne de Kwaasteniet was informed of oil and gas projects underway in Azerbaijan and the country`s contribution to providing energy security in Europe.
