“E-government” portal available for foreigners in Azerbaijan
Baku, November 23 (AZERTAC). Now the “E-government” portal of Azerbaijan creates conditions for the provision of e-services to citizens of foreign countries along with the citizens, the Azerbaijan Communication and Information Technology Ministry said.
For this purpose, a new section called "Non-resident" has been added to the portal www.e-gov.az. Initially, three government agencies have placed their electronic services in the section, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Committee for Work with Diaspora, as well as State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
E-service offered by the Foreign Affairs Ministry is intended for media representatives and called "Reception of applications and documents for accreditation of foreign journalists".
The State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs e-service has applications and documents for inter-country adoption.
The e-service provided by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora is intended for Azerbaijanis living abroad. Through this service, Azerbaijanis living abroad can appeal to the committee on any issue of interest using its e-application form.
The portal, which was launched in early 2012, combines all the government agencies. In nine month of this year, 148 e-services of the portal were used over 78,000 times.
2013 was declared the Year of ICT in Azerbaijan and the ICT University was established under a presidential order on February 2.
Some 142.6 million manats ($182 million) were invested in Azerbaijan's ICT and postal communication sectors in the first nine months of 2013.
