EU–Azerbaijan Cooperation Committee convenes in Baku
Baku, September 24 (AZERTAC). The European Union-Azerbaijan Cooperation Committee has held its 12th meeting in Baku.
Azerbaijan`s delegation at the event was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev, while the EU delegation was led by Gunnar Wiegand, the Director for Eastern Partnership and Central Asia in the European External Action Service.
Speaking to the meeting, Mammadguliyev said it would contribute to conducting a thorough analysis of the Azerbaijan-EU relations.
The Azeri deputy FM praised cooperation between the country and the organization, however, pointing out there are some issues to be discussed.
The meeting featured discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, supremacy of law, democracy and governance, human rights and fundamental freedoms, the EU`s assistance programs as part of the European Neighborhood Policy and Eastern Partnership.
