EUROPEAN CUSTOMS INVESTIGATION/INTELLIGENCE SERVICE HOLD 17th MEETING IN BAKU
The European Customs Investigation/Intelligence Service leaders have gathered in Baku for the body`s 17th meeting. Customs officials of more than 35 countries are joined by representatives of 8 international and regional organizations in the meeting organized with support from the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The meeting was opened by chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev who stressed one of the main current duties of customs workers is to struggle against illegal drugs haul and piracy as well as to protect cultural and historical heritage of countries and people.
Head of the Azerbaijan Parliament committee on economic issues Ziyad Samadzade said Azerbaijan has created a world-standard customs system which allowed the country to closer integrate into the world economy.
