Five killed, nine wounded in attack on police car in Iran

Baku, October 9 (AZERTAC). In an attack on a patrolling police car in Iran`s western city of Sanandaj on Thursday, five were killed and nine others were wounded, Mehr news agency reported.

Two unidentified attackers, affiliated to "anti-revolutionary groups", opened fire on a police car in the Azadi (Liberty) square of Sanandaj city, the capital of western Kurdistan province at 17: 10 local time (1340 GMT), the report said.

Ebrahim Kazeminejad, a police commander of Kurdistan province, said the terrorist attack killed four policemen and a passerby, and wounded nine others, among whom five were policemen and others were civilians.

Kazeminejad added one of the injured was in critical condition.
