FM Bayramov: Azerbaijan-Türkiye unity will promote regional peace and stability
Ankara, August 28, AZERTAC
“Azerbaijan and Türkiye share a unified stance. Our mutual support, strategic partnership, and allied relations will continue. This policy will promote peace, tranquility, and stability in the region,” said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Ankara.
Commenting on the negotiation process with Armenia, FM Bayramov noted that the primary obstacle to finalizing the peace treaty is Armenia’s territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as outlined in its constitution.
Describing Armenia’s rapid armament as a “disturbing trend,” the Azerbaijani FM stated that several third countries are encouraging Armenia to arm itself rapidly, a policy he deemed “very wrong” and “an additional source of threat for the region.”
“We are closely monitoring all these developments, and all related actions are being coordinated between Azerbaijan and Türkiye,” FM Bayramov added.
