GAS IMPORT FROM RUSSIA COMES TO 13.5 MLN CM PER DAY

Azerbaijan purchased 340 million cubic meters of natural gas in May from Russian gas giant Gasexport and 2 billion 33 million cm since beginning of the year. Thus, gas imports makes up an average of 13.5 million cubic meters of gas per day, according to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic.

In total, Azerbaijan Republic is going to import 4.5 bln cm of gas from Russia in 2006.

Summertime gas import from Russia has been set at 10.4 million cubic meters per day since June 1. After cold weather comes, gas import will rise to 13.6 mln cubic meters in December.
