GERMAN AZERBAIJANIS VOICE PROTEST OVER CONTROVERSIAL DOCUMENTARY ON ARTE TV
Baku, July 26 (AZERTAC). The coordination center of Azerbaijanis in Germany (CCAG) has sent a letter of protest to the Arte TV over demonstration of a documentary on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan.
Arte TV, Franco-German television network, aired a documentary “Auf den Gipfeln der Welt” (on world`s highest peaks) on July 14 and repeated it on July 21
The film made by French director Jean-Marie Barrer did not only told a story of tall mountains of Nagorno-Karabakh but also touched on political processes in the region, painting a distorted picture of the situation.
The documentary presents biased, pro-Armenian facts on Nagorno-Karabakh.
The letter provided information about the truth on Nagorno-Karabakh, Khojaly tragedy, hundreds of thousand Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs forced from their homes by Armenian occupation.
The CCAG urged the ARTE TV to take an impartial stand on the political matters and observe journalistic ethics.
It demanded to avoid shooting such controversial films in the future.
